Trevenna Green Tourism

OUR FRAGILE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT

Cornwall is a unique county with diverse coastal rural and moor landscapes. The farm land of Trevenna makes up to 142 acres of the fragile environment and we work towards reducing the 'foot print' we leave. Trevenna's sustainable practices aim to conserve the Cornish environment contribute to the Cornish economy and give something back to the community of St. Neot Parish and Cornwall.

Green Tourism & Sustainable Enterprise

Our Green Policy and membership to CoaST and the Green Business Tourism Scheme are all references to our green tourism practices as we work towards being a sustainable tourism enterprise.

Green Enterprise Policy

Trevenna is committed to preserving our unique environment and at the same time balancing a warm welcome to our guests. We believe that making ourselves aware of our 'foot print' is the first step in reducing our imprint.

Steps in the right direction include:

  • REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE: Using our recycling facilities. We can collect waste daily sorted into the bins as you go
  • BUY LOCAL: We use local farmers, producers and fisherman for our Wedding Feasts, Farm House Eatery and Guest Dining where possible. Visit the many local farm shops while you are staying at Trevenna.
  • TAKE IT WITH YOU: Take all your rubbish with you when out and about. Leaving rubbish is ugly and can kill wildlife.
  • LOCAL TRANSPORT: Consider using the train and bus services in Cornwall. For example, take the beautiful journey from the market  town of Liskeard down to the fishing port of Looe on the small branch line.
  • BE A LOCAL EXPLORER: Take a walk from the farm to the village of St. Neot.
  • LIGHTING: We use LED lighting were possible to reduce light pollution and energy consumption. Please turn off lights when appropriate.
