Trevenna is steeped in history. Founded as a monastery in the 1300's and developed as a farm in the 1600's. Tunnelled deep under the fields is the first mine in cornwall to generate electricity. The stones used to build the monastery and barns were all quarried from the site. Trevenna is home to three types of bats, including the rare greater horseshoe bat.
Built just under the brow of a hill, above a wooded valley and the river loveny, trevenna enjoys far reaching views to the south and has protection from the north winds.
Restoration has taken place during 2006 & 2007. A detailed guide can be found in each barn.
